You often hear people talk about how great it is to think “out of the box.” When companies have always played by a certain set of rules (GM, among many others lately) and they aren’t doing so well, you realize that there truly is power in innovating and coming up with a new way of thinking about things.
So this week I’m liking this word: widdershins. It’s an adverb, and it means backward, or in reverse order or direction. The word traditionally has a negative connotation because it’s considered unlucky, but if thinking “forward” in the traditional manner isn’t moving us forward, maybe we should think “backward.” Or in another direction entirely.
