Over a decade ago my brother, a musician who plays frequently at Irish pubs, suggested that I create a lip balm for kissing the Blarney Stone. (As you can imagine, it’s rough and uncomfortable to kiss the Blarney Stone.) We decided that this balm should have a pale green hue, an Irish cream flavor, and that its application would bestow the “gift of the gab” on the wearer. Of course this sounded like such blarney that the only fitting name was Blarney Balm.
Since then, our Blarney Balm has helped many an Irish lass to celebrate her wedding day. It’s been featured at Celtic baby showers and birthday parties, too. And Blarney Balm even took a trip to Ireland with friends who visited the Blarney Stone. (They shared pictures, but I’m still not sure any of them actually kissed the stone.)
A few years ago we had to discontinue Blarney Balm when we were no longer able to get the delicious flavoring. I’m happy to share that it’s back, with a sweet Irish whiskey, cocoa, and cream taste that’s even better than before.
