Henry David Thoreau said, “Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes.” Fortunately, he said nothing about avoiding drink recipes that require new mugs.

For years I’ve been planning to share this drink flavor in our limited editions, or even add it to our permanent flavors. It seems to be everywhere–at receptions, showers, bachelorettes–always in that trademark bright copper mug.

June’s Flavor of the Month is Moscow mule, inspired by the ginger beer and vodka cocktail created in 1941 in the Cock’n Bull Restaurant in Hollywood. With a kick of ginger and a twist of lime, this is sure to be a new favorite lip balm flavor.

While the original Moscow mule was concocted to get rid of two ingredients that wouldn’t sell, our Moscow mule lip balm allows me to use two of my favorite flavors: ginger and lime. (And also gave me the excuse to buy those awesome copper mugs.)

Moscow mule lip balm is available at 15% off all month. It’s also our gift to subscribers in every June order. (Make sure you let us know that you’d like one by checking off the little box at checkout.)

What do you think of Moscow mules? I tried one for the first time recently and didn’t expect the ginger beer to be that strong. But wow, isn’t it good with lime? And don’t they taste better in that copper mug? 🙂
