August is the best time to go to the beach here in Maine. The water doesn’t get any warmer, so if you’re going to swim, this is the time! When the days are hot and humid, it’s always cooler at the shore. And there’s nothing more relaxing than listening to the waves on the sand.
The only thing that improves an afternoon at the beach is a post-beach cocktail…like this Beachside Peach. With peach vodka and the refreshing flavors of pineapple, cranberry, and lime, Beachside Peach is a delicious signature drink for a beach or tropical theme party, too. (Remember to check state and national park rules before taking alcoholic beverages along.)
Beachside Peach
1 1/2 ounce peach vodka
1 1/2 ounce pineapple juice
1 1/2 ounce cranberry juice
1/4 ounce lime juice
ginger ale
slices of peach and lime
Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour peach vodka, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and lime juice into a shaker with ice. Shake, then strain into the glass. Top off with ginger ale, then garnish with peach and lime slices.
Are you surprised that I had to try “lip balm mixology” to recreate the Beachside Peach? It’s August’s Flavor of the Month lip balm, of course.
Beachside Peach is a bright peachy lip balm with fruity, tropical flavors and a neon pink cap that says “summer is here.” It’s available at 15% off all month, and is also our gift to all VIP subscribers.
Wondering how to get it added to your August order? Check off that little box at checkout to let us know you need one for the beach! (Or maybe just for your purse or desk, where it will remind you of the beach.) It’s that simple!
We’ll be including special recipe cards with August’s flavor, too, so you can try the real thing. Let me know what you think of the drink (and whether you think we should continue making the recipe cards).
What’s your favorite beachside (or poolside) drink? Do you plan to have some beach time this August?
