Though I’m getting ready to welcome September in 80+ degree heat today, the red-tipped leaves of the maple in my front yard are telling the story of autumn. And you know what? I’m OK with that. Fall brings some of my favorites: crisp, cool air, bright blue skies, stunning foliage, and apple picking!
If you caught the hint with our post the other day (I know, very subtle), this month is going to be all about Apples. It’s kinda perfect, when you think about it: every back-to-school image in September includes a big red apple (wonder how many kids still bring them for the teacher?). Our local orchard has just opened for annual apple picking. And we’re all starting to crave those warm, spicy treats that are only made better with apples.
Apple Inspiration
We’re also working on lots of apple theme events, from bachelorettes to baby showers. Light up your life (and your table) with these simple apple votives, appropriate for an Apple-y Ever After shower or just a fall table. I’ll admit, I was surprised to see how perfectly appropriate apples can look in a bouquet. Aren’t these beautiful? Caramel apples make a sweet treat for a fall event, or you can put together a DIY caramel apple kit and let your guests take them home (along with the stickiness!).
